Meeting with schools in Tokyo, Osaka and Okinawa | September 10–22, 2026
Launch a structured progression from Scratch to GameMaker with ready-to-teach lessons, instructor guidance, flexible program formats, and optional training—without asking your staff to develop a coding program from the ground up.
Developed by Brainy Bytes · Teaching STEM since 2010 · Designed for instructor-led learning.
See how the Brainy Bytes Game Coding Pathway guides students from creative block coding to more advanced game development while giving instructors the structure and support they need to teach confidently.
Explore the student experience, course progression, instructor materials, and school implementation process.
Brainy Bytes gives your school a complete framework to teach from… not simply a collection of activities. Your staff receives the structure, guidance, and support needed to deliver a meaningful coding experience.
Start with the course that fits your students today, then build the pathway over future terms.
Students and families understand what is being learned now and what comes next.
Many enrichment programs return to introductory activities each term. The Brainy Bytes Pathway gives returning students somewhere to go. Skills are revisited, applied in new ways, and developed through increasingly ambitious projects.
Returning students continue developing their abilities instead of repeatedly starting over.
Your school can launch one level and add the next as participation and student experience grow.
The result is a coding program that feels intentional, sustainable, and worth returning to.
Your instructors should not have to piece together a course from worksheets, videos, and unrelated activities. Brainy Bytes provides the instructor-facing tools needed to prepare, teach, troubleshoot, and communicate the program.
Clear objectives, preparation information, and a practical teaching sequence for every class.
Guidance for introducing concepts, demonstrating skills, and explaining why the code works.
Common student errors and practical guidance for helping students move forward.
Additional opportunities for students who finish early or are ready to go further.
Recommendations for full-term courses, shorter sessions, and camp formats.
Students develop core programming skills through interactive games, guided projects, and increasingly independent design decisions.
Recommended for: New and developing coders
Students move into a more advanced 2D game development environment and learn how sprites, objects, rooms, events, variables, and game logic work together.
Recommended for: Students with previous coding experience
Returning students create more advanced games using text coding, deeper mechanics, systems, level design, debugging, and project organization in an open-ended RPG.
Recommended for: Students with introductory GameMaker experience
Game Overload is a separate GameMaker-based camp program that introduces a more intensive top-down shooter game and a new platform game-building experience. It is designed for summer, holiday, school-break, and other concentrated program schedules.
Includes course and licensing options, program formats, technology requirements, instructor training and support information, and pricing guidance based on your school’s implementation needs.
Students are not simply watching videos or clicking through a self-paced platform. An instructor introduces each concept, guides the build, and supports students as they make choices, solve problems, test ideas, and improve their projects.
Tell us your student ages, prior experience, school calendar, staffing model, and number of campuses.
We recommend the most practical entry point based on student readiness and your available schedule.
Your school receives the curriculum, setup information, pacing guidance, and any selected training sessions.
Your instructor delivers the program with Brainy Bytes guidance available when questions arise.
As a founder-led company, Brainy Bytes has delivered instructor-led STEM and coding programs since 2010. School partners work directly with the people who understand the curriculum, the classroom flow, and the instructor challenges behind the program.
We are not a self-paced platform or a generic STEM provider. Brainy Bytes specializes in instructor-led game coding pathways that help schools run structured, project-based classes their instructors can actually teach — with pacing, lesson flow, troubleshooting notes, and optional launch support.
This is especially useful for schools that already offer STEM, robotics, or beginner coding, but want a stronger next step into creative game development without building the curriculum internally.
I created Brainy Bytes to help educators provide meaningful learning experiences without having to design every lesson themselves. This pathway brings that same classroom-tested structure to schools and learning programs in the US and beyond.

No. Brainy Bytes is designed for an instructor to introduce concepts, demonstrate skills, guide projects, and support students throughout the learning process.
The Brainy Bytes Game Coding Pathway is designed primarily for students in Grades 3–6 (approximately ages 8–12), with flexibility for younger or older students based on experience and readiness. Students can begin with Game Lab or enter at a more advanced level if they already have coding experience, then progress through Game Studio and Game Master as their skills develop.
Yes. Your school can begin with one curriculum and add additional pathway levels as participation and student experience grow.
Yes. Each course is designed as a complete 12-week program and includes guidance for adapting the same curriculum to 10- or 8-week schedules.
For schools seeking a more intensive camp format, Brainy Bytes also offers Game Overload, a separate GameMaker-based camp program.
No. The curriculum includes detailed teaching guidance, and optional training is available. Instructors should be comfortable learning technology and guiding students. Advanced GameMaker levels benefit from previous coding experience.
Computer requirements vary by course. Brainy Bytes confirms device compatibility, software setup, and account needs before licensing.
Yes. A short curriculum preview is available directly from this page. The Complete Course and Licensing Guide can also be requested through the information form.
A standard license applies to one campus. Multi-campus licensing is available for school groups and learning organizations.
Training is optional and can be added according to your school’s needs.
Brainy Bytes provides implementation guidance and reasonable curriculum support during the license period. The complete support terms are included in the licensing materials.
Tell us a little about your school and what you are considering. We’ll help you identify the most relevant course, program format, licensing, and instructor-support options.
Recommended student profile: Students who are new to coding or are still developing confidence with blockbased programming.
Learning focus: Through the framework of their first game, students will explore events, sequences, loops, conditionals, movement, coordinates, collisions, scoring, variables, and debugging.
Student experience: Students begin with guided game projects and gradually make more decisions about characters, artwork, mechanics, goals, and difficulty. Creations will include top-down shooter and scrolling games.
Program formats: Flexible course scheduling. Same course. Same license. 8-, 10-, and 12-week pacing guidance is included.
Next step: Introduction to GameMaker.
Recommended student profile: Students with previous coding experience who are ready to move beyond Scratch.
Learning focus: Students will explore sprites, objects, rooms, events, global variables, collisions, structured game logic, and UI while creating a multi-level tower defense game.
Student experience: Students build a complete 2D game through guided development, testing, customization, and problem-solving.
Program formats: Flexible course scheduling. Same course. Same license. 8, 10, and 12-week pacing guidance is included.
Next step: GameMaker Master.
Recommended student profile: Students who have completed an introductory GameMaker course or have comparable experience.
Learning focus: While creating a complex RPG game, students will explore advanced mechanics, syntax, level design, animation, cameras, systems, debugging, testing, and project organization.
Student experience: Students take greater ownership of planning, building, testing, and refining a more sophisticated original game. This course is presented as an open-ended course… meaning students are provided with the knowledge and tools to take this game beyond the 12 hours of instruction.
Program formats: This course is recommended to be offered with no less than 12 weeks due to depth of instruction. RPG games have no limit to size or content. Due to this, completion of a game does not have to be required. The goal is to provide the tools to build an RPG world. We suggest adding additonal weeks of guided creation if you want to have them complete their games for presentation.
STEAM and creativity have never been more connected! We spend half the day unplugged, using crafts and challenges to encourage students to use their imagination and build a strong spatial understanding – then, we’ll unleash their creativity with 3D modeling softwares like TinkerCad, Blockbench, and animation tools like Toontastic 3D!
